The Grammar Translation Method
Definition & Description:
An application of methods used to the teaching of modern languages.
Rules of grammar, not the language itself, are all important.
Verb declensions (decline, fall, descent, the act or the state of declining) are set out, with tables, vocabulary lists to be learned, leading to translation from mother tongue into the target language and vice-versa, little or no attention to pronunciation.
